Updates on DACA

Well readers,
A "solution" has been in the making in regards to the DACA program and the millions of Dreamers that make up America. Sunday night some "rules" for keeping DACA in place were released. The rules included heavier border control, decreasing the number of immigrants allowed in to America, strengthening the process of obtaining green cards and much more. What was supposed to be reasonable does not feel very reasonable. During an interview House leader Nancy Pelosi described the previous 6 month crack down by stating "the president should never have done what he did... it was inhumane". Do you agree with her statement?

  1. I agree with her statement. I know that the authorities are trying to keep the country safe but am pretty sure that's not an immigrant problem..."shootings in Vegas"... Safety is not about kicking people out and tearing families apart. Like you said, they must be a more reasonable solution

  2. My biggest issue with the whole "boarder control" argument is that it implies there are no other illegal immigrants coming from any other part of the world than south of the states. This does not take into account European migrants, Asian, or anyone else for that matter. To add to this fact that the wall is not only grossly inefficient but equally ineffective, the majority of those who come over and stay do so through airports. If you are going to blame Mexican migrants then you have to take into account there are other ways as well like tunnels which are utilized. The fact of the matter is there are better ways to go about this situation than just "THROWING MONEY AT A WALL".

There is a joke I hear that makes me laugh but someone asked what those coming over will do when they see the wall and the response was something like "bring a bigger ladder".
It's that simple. The wall will do nothing but waste money.

I'm glad however that there is still going to be this in place or at the very least there was talk of attempting to do so.

  3. I am glad to hear that they will not be completely repealing the DACA legislation. People have lived their entire lives here and are productive members of our society should not have their whole lives uprooted. I agree that something has to be done about them remaining in the country, even if that is allowing them to obtain citizenship. However, uprooting these entire families does not seem like the best and most efficient way to deal with the issue. I am glad to see that some sense was brought to the table on this issue.
